Anisha Murphy is a Twin Cities native, attorney, educator, strategist, and community advocate committed to advancing economic justice, asset protection, and generational wealth-building. Licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and Michigan, she is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Just Law LLC (“Just Law”), an asset protection law firm dedicated to equipping entrepreneurs, families, nonprofits, and community-centered organizations with sophisticated yet accessible legal strategies that protect assets, strengthen enterprises, and preserve legacy.
Anisha founded Just Law with a bold vision: to provide innovative, practical, and culturally responsive legal tools that support sustainable and equitable community and business development. Her practice focuses on business formation and structuring, contract drafting and negotiation, trademarks, probate, asset protection, and comprehensive life and legacy planning. Through her work, she helps clients build legally sound foundations that allow them not only to create wealth—but to protect and transfer it for generations to come.
Beyond her law practice, Anisha is deeply invested in legal education, leadership development, and ecosystem building. She serves as an Adjunct Professor at Hamline University, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and the University of Minnesota Law School, where she mentors and equips the next generation of lawyers and legal professionals with practical, strategic, and community-centered legal skills.
Anisha also serves as a Legal Fellow with the Sustainable Economies Law Center, where she advances innovative legal frameworks that support cooperative ownership, community wealth-building, and sustainable economic development. Her professional leadership and impact have earned her recognition as a 2020 Women in Business Awardee, a 2021 Women in Finance Awardee, and a 2024 Top 100 Black Lawyers Awardee.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Anisha is deeply committed to service, mentorship, and community engagement. She proudly serves on a number of community and nonprofit boards focused on advancing equity, economic empowerment, and opportunities for underserved communities. She is also a proud member of The Minnepolis-St. Paul Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and the Minneapolis–St. Paul Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
At the center of Anisha’s work and purpose is motherhood. As the proud momtie of Waymon and Dejaun, she is intentional about modeling leadership, resilience, entrepreneurship, and service. Life and Legacy Planning (Estate Planning)
Life & Legacy Planning (Estate Planning) is the legal foundation for protecting what
matters most—your family, your assets, and your wishes. A thoughtfully designed plan
does more than distribute property; it minimizes probate delays, strengthens asset
protection, and ensures that trusted individuals can step in to make critical decisions if
the unexpected occurs.

Probate Administration
Probate is the legal process of settling a person’s estate after death. During this
process, assets are identified and inventoried, valid debts and taxes are paid, and the
remaining property is distributed to heirs or beneficiaries according to the will or, if no
will exists, in accordance with state law. The individual responsible for managing this
process is known as the personal representative (sometimes referred to as an
executor). If you have a valid will, this person is typically named within the document. If
not, the court will appoint someone to serve in that role, which can sometimes lead to
delays or added complexity.

Guardianship and Conservatorship
Guardianship and Conservatorship are court-ordered legal arrangements designed
to protect individuals who are unable to manage their own personal or financial
affairs due to incapacity, disability, or age. While these roles are often discussed
together, they serve distinct purposes.
A guardian is appointed to make personal decisions on behalf of an individual,
including matters related to healthcare, living arrangements, and overall well-being.
A conservator, on the other hand, is responsible for managing financial affairs—such
as paying bills, protecting assets, and making decisions regarding property and
income.
Both roles are subject to ongoing court oversight to ensure that decisions are made
in the best interest of the protected person. While guardianship and conservatorship
can be necessary in certain circumstances, they can also be time-intensive, public,
and restrictive.
